I’m curious as to whether the sugar content in frosted flakes outweighs all the beneficial minerals and vitamins you receive from the cereal. Two bowls of frosted flakes can give you more than an entire days supply in many vitamins and minerals. (including the benefits from milk)
- Vitamin A
- Calcium
- Iron
- Vitamin D
- Thiamine
- Riboflavin
- Niacin
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin B12
- Folate
- Pantothenate
- Phosphorous
- Magnesium
- Zinc
So does all the sugar in frosted flakes outweigh all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients gained?
There aren’t a lot of calories in frosted flakes, and I’m not concerned about weight. I’m pretty active.
Just curious as to whether I’m benefiting from eating frosted flakes.

NO! The makers of cereal which is devoid in nutrition found that if they advertise “vitamins and minerals” then people will buy it. The truth is, the overly processed grain and high sugar cause your body to react by spiking insulin levels. Try going for a sweet cereal that is made from non-processed grains and less refined sugar (like high fructose corn syrup..yick)…still yummy and your body will thank you.
Skip the frosted flakes and buy plain old cornflakes already.

Almost all cereals are fortified with vitamins and minerals.
If you are concerned about the sugar……try mixing the cereal with
another cereal……like cornflakes……or low-sugar frosted flakes.
This way you can reduce the amount of sugar and still enjoy your Frosted Flakes.
Two bowls of cereals per day is still better that a couple of donuts.
